A longtime local business is continuing to invest in downtown Great Bend while strengthening community partnerships through the launch of the new Barton Cougar Corner inside Identifications Co.’s downtown retail location.
Identifications Co. celebrated the opening with a community ribbon cutting hosted by the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 1413 Main Street in Great Bend.
Founded in 1992, Identifications Co. has become a trusted provider of custom apparel, embroidery, screen printing, promotional products, and branding solutions for schools, businesses, organizations, and sports teams across Central Kansas and beyond.
The new Barton Cougar Corner was created through a partnership with Barton Community College to provide students, alumni, parents, and community members with a more convenient downtown location to purchase official Barton merchandise outside of campus.
“The college approached us with the idea of creating a dedicated section within our store to host Barton Community College merchandise,” the company shared. “The goal was to provide customers with a second, more convenient location to purchase Barton swag closer to the downtown area.”
The collaboration builds on years of partnership between Identifications Co. and Barton Community College through apparel, promotional products, and community initiatives.
“This milestone was inspired by our ongoing partnership with Barton Community College and our shared goal of better serving the community,” the company shared. “When the opportunity came to create a downtown Cougar Corner location, it felt like the perfect next step.”
The project reflects several priorities within the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce’s ElevateGBK strategic plan, including downtown development, local business growth, collaboration, and strengthening community connections.
“This moment is meaningful because it reflects the strong relationships we have built locally and our commitment to supporting community organizations and businesses in new ways,” the company added.
