Lonnie Lynn Ehrlich, 65, died December 30, 2022, at Clara Barton Hospital ER, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born October 13, 1957, in Russell, Kansas, the son of Royce M. and Lila J. (Ochs) Ehrlich. Lonnie graduated Hoisington High School in 1975.
He married Denise Beneteau in December of 1987, they later divorced.
Lonnie resided in Sylvan Grove, Kansas, but was often found at the family farm in Hoisington. He worked for KDOT as a supervisor for 33 years, recently retiring in 2020. Lonnie was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he currently attended. A motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed outings on his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed metal detecting, often finding artifacts and coins to add to his collection. Mostly he loved his family and spending time with his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his children; Cory Ehrlich and wife Traci of Hoisington, George Ehrlich of Russell, and Kylie Heller and husband Clint of Hunter; sisters, Jolene Ehrlich of Arkansas City, Karla Newport of Great Bend, and RoxAnn Reiser and husband Douglas of Great Bend; and his three grandchildren, Essie Jean Heller, Samuel Ehrlich, and Hayden Heller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife, Denise Ehrlich, and a brother-in-law, Kent Newport.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 5th, 2023, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Rhonda Templing, SAM presiding. A private family burial will be held in Sylvan Grove Cemetery.
