RICE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 5:30p.m. Friday in Rice County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Dodge Durango driven by Cameron G. Beakley, 42, Sterling was southbound on 8th Road just south of Avenue B. The driver made an evasive maneuver to avoid a deer in the roadway. The SUV left the roadway and struck a ravine embankment.
EMS transported Beakley to the Rice County Hospital. The KHP did not report seat belt usage details.
