The start of summer is not officially until June 21, but the Great Bend Recreation Commission has their summer already scheduled out, especially when it comes to baseball and softball tournaments coming to town. The Great Bend Sports Complex is booked for a USA Softball tournament this weekend, USSSA Baseball next weekend, then the Class 2-1A State Baseball Tournament and plenty of Hap Dumont tournaments on the horizon.

Sports Director Paul Zamarripa said all those tournaments do not even include
the rec leagues for youth and adults.
"We also have adult softball signup going on right now," said Zamarripa. "Adult softball isn't as big as it used to be, but we still have teams that want to play. We make it work so they can play two or three times a week."
