Great Bend Post Sports
A pair of Great Bend High School golfers opened the season in Hays on Tuesday. With just two scores, the Lady Panthers did not compete as a team. Garden City edged Salina Central by a single stroke in that competition with a 195. TMP finished third with a 208.
Rawlins County senior Amelia Bowles and Hays senior Jaycee Oakley each shot a 41 to tie for first in the 9-hole competition. Garden City sophomore Ailynn Anderson finished third with a 42.
Lady Panther junior Kylee Miessler placed 21st with a 62, missing the top 20 by a single stroke. Junior Zoey Mayberry shot a 69 for 35th.
The varsity team heads to Salina on Aug. 10.
