
An Attempt to Locate was issued by the Kansas Highway Patrol Tuesday
morning after a white female subject being detained in the area of K-156, at
mile marker 95 in Pawnee County, fled the scene.
The female was still hinged in handcuffs and was thought to be heading to Hays.
The escapee entered the river close to Fort Larned.
The Kansas Highway Patrol worked with the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office, park
rangers, Larned Police Department, Kansas Department of Corrections, Barton
County Sheriff’s Office and Larned Fire and EMS.
A perimeter was set up in the area and law enforcement made use of three
drones, K-9 officers and a river boat provided by Barton County.
The subject was captured and taken to the Pawnee County jail.
