The Barton Community College baseball team took the opening pair of games 2-1 and 10-7 Saturday in its three-game set hosting North Iowa Area Community College.

Barton improves 16-2 on the year with the Trojans slipping to 4-12. The teams return to Lawson-Biggs Field on Saturday to wrap up its series with a 1:00 p.m. nine inning contest.

The Cougar pitching staff scattered twelve hits in the sixteen innings played, offsetting four NIACC home runs with 20 strikeouts.
