Pawnee County Highway Administrator Kurt Demel reported that crews have completed work on the box structure bridge on L road, between US Highway 183 and 220th.
Steel braces were added to the wing walls to add needed support to the aging bridge. The repairs should extend the life of the structure up to 15 years.
Also, off system bridge OS75 on U Road, between 155 and 160th Avenue, continues in its progress.
The State of Kansas will cover approximately $250,000 of the new bridge’s costs, leaving $100,000 to $150,000 to Pawnee County.
It is estimated to take around 65 days to complete the project, putting an opening date around the first of the year.
