
From the Hoisington Police Department
On Oct. 4, at approximately 10:19 p.m., an officer with the Hoisington Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white Chrysler 200 in the 700 block of North Cedar Street for a traffic violation.
During the traffic stop, the officer observed the driver was displaying signs of being extremely nervous. Based on the officer’s observations, he requested consent to search the vehicle. The driver, identified as Makayla Jackson, 25, gave consent to the search. During the search, officers located suspected methamphetamine, THC, and drug paraphernalia.
Jackson was placed under arrest and transported to the Barton County Jail, where she was booked on a $10,000 bond.
The Hoisington Police Department will continue to work diligently to keep our community safe and make Hoisington a safe place to live and work.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
