Barton Community College is looking for young dancers. The Cougar Dance Team is hosting its Junior Barton Dance Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. Dance Coach Sabrina Talbot said the day culminates with a pair of performances during the Cougar basketball games.
"Ages kindergarten through eighth grade, they're going to come for a clinic during the day, then that afternoon they're going to perform at halftime of the women's basketball game," she said. "Our dance team will perform at the men's halftime of that game."
Registration is $20, and pre-registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. that morning at the Kirkman Building on the BCC campus. Participants may bring water but everything else will be provided. The young dancers will learn a routine and a few Barton chants to be performed during halftime of the Lady Cougar home game against Colby that afternoon.
