Pandee leads Barton women's golf at Fort Scott Invite

The Barton Community College women's golf team placed second on Saturday in the conference's third meet of the season held at the Woodland Hills Golf Course hosted by Fort Scott Community College.

Mathanee Pandee, coming off a career best 71 in the Barton Invite, led four Cougars in the top nine of the twenty-one player field, placing second overall with a 19-over 163, carding rounds of 79 and 84.

Barton as a squad posted a 346 in Friday's opening round, following with a 690 in placing second once again behind Dodge City Community College. The Conquistadors shot rounds of 330 and 333 for a 27-stroke victory at 663. Fort Scott placed third in a combined 808 total score.

The Cougars' next meet is April 23-24 at Hutchinson's Carey Park Golf Course in the Region VI Championship for berths in the NJCAA Championship Tournament being determined.

Dodge City's Thitapha Iamtragul took the top individual spot by nine strokes at 10-over behind 76 and 68 rounds for a 154.

Pawinee Sukasem held steady in the fourth spot through both rounds, opening with an 85 to fire Saturday's second best round of 8-over 80 to finish at 21-over 165.

Also posting a solid improvement in the final round was Mia Trousdale, following day one's 91 with an 85 to hold firm in the sixth spot with a 32-over 176.

In the sixth spot after a first round 91, Paige Barnes fell three spots on the final leaderboard with a 95 in tallying a 42-over 186 to finish ninth overall.

Haleigh Spray moved up two spots into the 11th posting at 52-over 196, taking ten strokes off her first round in carding Saturday's 93. Cailee McMullen placed 13th, carding a 104 but made a six stroke improvement on the final day with a 98 for a tournament 58-over 202. Drue Davis went the opposite direction on Saturday, carding an opening 101 before dropping three spots with a 106 finishing 15th at 63-over 207.
