Donnie W. High, age 77, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital.
He was born the son of Charley Edward and Emily Mabel (Tharp) High on April 10, 1945, in Miller, Kan.
Donnie married Annie May on May 15, 1971, in Emporia. They shared 51 years of wonderful marriage. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking care of his lawn. You could find Donnie on his riding lawn mower, cutting grass at home and at work. He was a former member of First Bible Baptist Church in Great Bend, as well as South Knollwood Baptist Church. Donnie and his wife are current members of Topeka Bible Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Annie M. High; two sons, Daniel High, Timothy High and his wife Lynda; four grandchildren, Valla, Sam, Elvira, and Doran. His five siblings, Katie, Nita, Charles, Bertha, and Earlene also survive.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jessie, Geri, and Vernon.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka.
A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Topeka Bible Church (CAB Building), 1135 SW College Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
Inurnment will take place at Ivy Cemetery in rural Lyon County at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made in Donnie’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation-Finance Dept., 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
