Otha Robinson, age 93

Otha Beatrice Robinson, age 93 years, of Denver, Colorado and formerly of Great Bend, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Northglenn Heights Assisted Living & Memory Care in Northglenn, Colorado.  Affectionately known as Big Momma, she was a beacon of love and strength, a vibrant soul that touched every life she encountered. Born on January 9, 1931, in Bernice, LA, USA, Otha was a creative and dedicated woman who poured her heart into everything she did. From playing dominos, engaging in challenging crossword puzzles, writing music, playing the piano, to reading the Bible, Otha's hobbies were a testament to her diverse talents and passions. Her laughter was infectious, her humor a balm to all who knew her. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Otha made everyone feel loved, valued, and cherished.

Throughout her life, Otha lived in several places, including Great Bend, Kansas, Denver, Colorado, and Katy, Texas, before finally settling down in Commerce City, Colorado. In every place she lived, she left a mark of joy and love. Her dedication to her family was unwavering; the pride she had for her children was immeasurable, and she was blessed with a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom she adored. Otha was a woman of faith, who loved the Lord with all her heart. This love was reflected in her daily life and was a cornerstone of her strength and resilience, guiding her through life's ups and downs.

Otha is survived by her sons, Loren Robinson, Bobby Robinson, Earl Gray and Lavern Robinson; daughters, Verlean Adams, Rosetta Robinson, Mary Farr and Lucinda Biddix. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Brown, mother Theous Brown; husband, Kenneth Robinson and daughters, Linda Gray, Rosey Anderson, Greta Robinson and Genlee Robinson; sons, Harry Robinson and Kenneth Robinson. Her legacy of love, humor, and strength will continue to live on through her loved ones.

Otha's life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, dedication, and humor. As we remember her, let us celebrate the unique and beautiful spirit that she was. A Homegoing Celebration of her life will be held in Denver, Colorado on Friday, February 2nd, 2024.

Local Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at Charter Funerals in Great Bend with Dr. John Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Great Bend Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family and a full obituary notice may be viewed at http://www.chartergreatbend.com
