Dortha Jean Batchman, 60, passed away June 17, 2022, at Via Christ St. Francis, Wichita. She was born Aug. 13, 1961, in St. John, to Leonard and Florene (Kendall) Batchman.
A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Dortha attended First Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend, and enjoyed reading, word searches and writing letters to her family. She was a longtime client and employee of Sunflower Diversified Services, with a broad range of skills, from manufacturing pallets to the delicate craft of making tea towels.
Survivors include one sister, Diane Lewis and husband Glen of Great Bend; two aunts Barbara Phillips of Hutchinson and Laura Lou Rodarmel of St. John; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Debra Hapes.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Wade Russell presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, June 22, at Bryant Funeral Home.
