Larned – Carlotta M. Chacon Brenner, 87, passed away March 30, 2024 at Pleasant Hills Nursing Home, Hutchinson, Kansas.
She was born November 4, 1936 at Kinsley, the daughter of Manuel and Pauline Rey Chacon.
A longtime area resident, she was a hospital nurse aid. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society, PVCH Auxiliary, and Homemaker EHU, all of Larned. She was a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews. Carlotta was a faithful supporter of the blood mobile and anything benefiting the “US of A”.
On November 3, 2001 she married Dr. W.R. Brenner at Larned; he preceded her in death July 19, 2013.
Survivors include: step son, William Brenner Jr., Williamsburg, Virginia; three step daughters, Barbara Polston, Kansas City, Missouri, Anne Armstrong, Fairbanks, Alaska, Katherine Brenner, Eugene Oregon; brother, Martin (Kathleen) Chacon, Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Rosalie Castaneda, Lewis, Margaret (Joe) Garcia, Larned; eleven step grandchildren, ten step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; two step sons, Robert Brenner and Stephen Brenner; four brothers, Valentine Chacon, Florentino Chacon, Louis Chacon and Juan Manuel Chacon; and a sister, Anne Molina.
Funeral mass will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 4, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, with a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
