ELLSWORTH COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Wednesday in Ellsworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Freightliner semi driven by Anthony B. McCrary, 72, Pinckneyville, Illinois, attempted to pass an eastbound 2011 Mazda 3 driven by William A. Tiroff, 31, Amarillo, Texas, who was slowing to make a left turn onto Avenue W from Kansas 156.
The semi struck the Mazda. The impact pushed the Mazda into a 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Seth A. Tucker, 28, Huntsville, Missouri.
EMS transported Tiroff to the Ellsworth County Hospital. McCrary and Tucker were not injured. All three drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
