One of the great Halloween traditions will continue another year in Ellinwood. But the location has changed. The annual Trunk or Treat will move to the parking lot of the Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic, 300 N. Park Ave. Chamber President Nancy Baird said this year’s event will be held on Halloween evening from 5-7 p.m.
“This year, it’s going to be held at the hospital parking lot, so it will be a bigger area,” she said. “Ellinwood Rec and Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic are teaming up to carry on this Trick or Trunk tradition that was started years ago by the Ellinwood Methodist Church, then continued by the Ellinwood Community Church.”
The goal of Trick or Trunk is to provide a safe environment for trick or treating. The community is invited to participate, trunk or no trunk.
“You can either decorate your trunk and pass out treats, you can dress up if you want, team up with a friend, or you can just come, park, and pass out treats,” Baird said. “You don’t have to be elaborate.”
Trunk setup will begin at 4 p.m. on Oct. 31. Interested parties are asked to contact Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic or fill out a form online prior to the event by clicking here. The information gives staff an idea of how many trunks will be available, and also allows space for special accommodations such as electricity.
