Great Bend Alive's Fridays on Forest have been a nice way to celebrate all things Great Bend. One of the community's largest events is scheduled for Sept. 20-22 as Airfest returns for a fifth edition. Great Bend Community Coordinator Christina Hayes said there will be several ways to help raise funds for Airfest and win prizes at the July Fridays on Forest on July 26.

"First of all, we created a raffle where you can enter to win a ride or drive experience," she said. "The ride is on a B-29 Superfortress, 'Doc,' or an F-1 rocket ride with Craig Robl. Also, if you buy a ticket, you could potentially win a drive in a Ferrari F430 or a Lamborghini Gallardo."

Raffle tickets are $10 each or six for $50. Sales kick off at Fridays on Forest but winners will not be drawn until the week of Sept. 1. New at this Fridays on Forest will be the Human Fruit Machine.

"You'll pay a dollar, push a button, and you get a fruit," Hayes explained. "We will roll it out for you where if you get three bananas, you can win some Great Bend gear. We're giving away some Great Bend Airfest shirts, we're giving away some June Jaunt shirts, some Party in the Park shirts, some I Love Great Bend stuff, all sorts of goodies."

All proceeds will help fund Airfest. Early-bird tickets for this year's Airfest will also go on sale Friday. Early-bird tickets may be purchased online at a discounted price by CLICKING HERE.

The July 26 Fridays on Forest on Forest Ave. between Main and Williams Streets in Great Bend, will feature live music from Kurt Allen and various food and alcohol vendors. The event runs from 5-9 p.m.
