Larned – Elmer F. Bronson, 79, passed away March 13, 2024, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.
He was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Great Bend, the son of Wilfred and Lucille Breshears Bronson.
A lifetime area resident, he was a welder for Doerr Metal, Larned and Great Bend Industries. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned. Elmer enjoyed bowling, decorating for holidays and loved to work on cars and help his family.
On May 9, 1963, he married Jane Perez at Larned, she preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2002.
Survivors include: daughter, Jenny (Tracy) Rector, Larned; three sons, Tony Bronson, Great Bend, Bill Bronson, Buffalo, Wyo., Wayne (Angela) Bronson, Larned; two brothers, Clarence Reuben Bronson Jr., Texas, Craig Bendell Bronson, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
On April 12, 2019 he married Frances Earegood at Larned; she survives.
Other survivors include: two step-daughters, Elizabeth Earegood and Erin (Ethan) Lattin, all of Larned; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; step-mother, Mae Bronson; wife, Jane Bronson; brother, Wilfred Lewis Bronson; step-son, Christopher Earegood and daughter-in-law, Karen Bronson.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Anselm Eke presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with a rosary and vigil at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
