Drugs, loaded firearm located after traffic stop in Great Bend

On Sunday, June 22, at approximately 4:16 a.m., an officer from the Great Bend Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 2300 block of 10th Street. During the stop, a K9 from the Barton County Sheriff's Office responded for a free air sniff of the vehicle. After the K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Inside the vehicle, officers located methamphetamine, prescription pills, THC wax, drug paraphernalia and a loaded firearm.

The driver, and only occupant, Wendy Rogers, age 44, was placed under arrest, and booked in lieu of $10,000 bond.
