USD 355 did something a little special during Monday's basketball games between Ellinwood and Southeast of Saline. The fathers of both schools, both former basketball coaches at Ellinwood High School, were honored with a ceremony.
Grant Lane is the father of current EHS head coach Jaron Lane. Grant coached at EHS from 1998-2005. Francis Flax is the father of current Southeast of Saline head coach Bryson Flax. Francis coached the Eagles from 1972-79.
Both sons were able to present their fathers with a piece of the old gym floor that was originally installed in 1954 and replaced in 2023.
USD 355 thanked the fathers for their service to EHS and for passing on their basketball legacies.
