The Great Bend High School (GBHS) Kays Club recently hosted a blood drive on March 25, achieving an outstanding impact for the community. The event collected 22 units of blood, reaching the club’s goal and potentially helping dozens of patients in need.

Karen Clark, Kays Club sponsor and GBHS Teacher, shared, “Our goal was 22 units, and we collected 22 units! We had 31 people try to donate, and of those, 17 were first-time donors. I’m always proud of the leadership and courage our students exhibit in trying something new.”

The blood drive brought together students, staff, and community members, including mother-son duo Tammy and Brody Cline. Tammy, a special education teacher at GBHS, accompanied her son Brody, who donated blood for the first time.

The Kays Club continues to promote community service and leadership among students, demonstrating the power of giving back.
