Betty Ruth McJunkin, 95, passed away May 3, 2024, at Country Living of Larned.
She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Hartville, Ohio, the daughter of Emanuel and Barbara Hochstetler Miller.
Moving from Sheridan, Ore. in 1960, she was a longtime area resident and a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Fellowship, Hanston, Extension Homemakers Unit (Shiley Homemakers), Ness County Farm Wives Coffee Club, and Burdett Seniors. Betty was a coin collector and enjoyed attending church services, making desserts for potluck dinners, cooking, sewing, crocheting and spending time with family.
On May 7, 1961 she married Ivar Dean McJunkin at Great Bend; he preceded her in death in 2008.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary (Rachel) McJunkin, Burdett, Craig (Kimberly) McJunkin, Arkansas City; brother, Elton James “Jim” Miller, New Castle, Colo.; six grandchildren, Caleb McJunkin, Joshua McJunkin, David (Alyssa) McJunkin, Elizabeth McJunkin, Grace (Devin) Smithwick, Benjamin McJunkin.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; three brothers, Roy Miller, Alvin Miller, Orvan Miller; two sisters, Alma Larrew and Dorothy Good.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Faith Fellowship, Hanston, with Pastor Doug Ellison presiding. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 3-5 p.m. Burial in Crandall Union Cemetery.
