Thirty-two years have passed since Robin Williams donned a dress and wig as the memorable Mrs. Doubtfire. That nanny character and the movie will highlight this year's Moonlight Madness event in Larned on Friday, Aug. 1.
The madness begins at 6 p.m. in downtown Larned with shopping, food trucks, snow cones, music, train rides, a car show, and more until 8 p.m. The Mrs. Doubtfire Costume Contest begins at 7 p.m. at the Larned Chamber office, 502 Broadway. The winner of the contest will walk away with a 50-inch television. The night swim goes from 8-10 p.m. at the Larned City Pool, and the "Mrs. Doubtfire" movie begins at 9:15 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. Pajamas or wacky attire are highly encouraged.
The weather is even supposed to behave for Moonlight Madness with showers moving out of the area before noon and highs staying around 80 degrees.
