Glen B. Henderson, 92, passed away July 14, 2024, at Premier Living Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on November 28, 1931, in Scranton, Arkansas, to Oliver and Iva (Garrison) Henderson. On March 22, 1952, he married Wanda Howell in Russellville, Arkansas. She passed on July 1, 2003.
A resident of Arkansas until 1978, Glen started his career in the poultry industry working for Arkansas Valley Industry. He later formed a partnership as Double H Farm operating an egg poultry plant and establishing the first motel in Yell County. Once he moved to Kansas, he worked for Pawnee Beef Builders then switched to the transport side of agriculture founding Henderson Trucking Company, where he hauled and brokered hay.
Glen was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville as well as Great Bend, Kansas, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Russellville, Arkansas Poultry Association, and Board of Directors for PCA. He enjoyed raising yorkies and birds.
Survivors include his beloved sons, Dr. Rusty Henderson and wife Cindy of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Kevin Henderson and wife Lonna of Wichita; three grandchildren, Chase Henderson and wife Elizabeth of Nashville, Tennessee, Amber Maurer and husband Brandon of Wichita, Ethan Henderson and wife Mikaela of Hays; three great grandchildren, Sheppard and Olive Henderson, and Bailey Maurer; and numerous loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; his parents; brother, Gerald Henderson; and sister, Jean Burris.
Visitation will take place noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Russellville, Arkansas.
