Overland Park - It was Barton and Cowley playing for the Central Plains Region Soccer Championships Sunday in Overland Park at Johnson County Community College.
The Cowley Men defeated Barton 2-1, while the Lady Tigers also beat the Barton Women by that same 2-1 score.
The Cowley Men and Women both advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.
Despite the losses, both Barton Men and Women still have a chance at receiving at-large bids after winning their respective Jayhawk Conference regular season championships.
The Barton Men fell to 17-2-3 on the season while the Layd Cougars are 14-2-3.
