A long-time&nbsp;Barton County employee was honored at the Barton County Commission’s weekly meeting on Monday.&nbsp;Bev&nbsp;Frizell, a registered dietician and supervisor for the County’s Women, Infants and Children&nbsp;(WIC)&nbsp;program&nbsp;has been&nbsp;chosen&nbsp;by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to be a&nbsp;mentor&nbsp;to new WIC coordinators.&nbsp;&nbsp;

County Health Director Karen Winkelman&nbsp;praised Frizell at the Commission meeting.&nbsp;

"We are very fortunate to have Bev as an employee of the Barton County Health Department for 30 years,” Winkelman&nbsp;said. “She knows the WIC program, the maternal child health program inside and out.&nbsp;So&nbsp;this is a great honor for Bev and also a good representation of our health department.”&nbsp;

Commissioners voted unanimously to congratulate Frizell on her new role.&nbsp;Winkelman&nbsp;also&nbsp;presented Frizell with a certificate of appreciation.&nbsp;
