A long-time Barton County employee was honored at the Barton County Commission’s weekly meeting on Monday. Bev Frizell, a registered dietician and supervisor for the County’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program has been chosen by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to be a mentor to new WIC coordinators.
County Health Director Karen Winkelman praised Frizell at the Commission meeting.
"We are very fortunate to have Bev as an employee of the Barton County Health Department for 30 years,” Winkelman said. “She knows the WIC program, the maternal child health program inside and out. So this is a great honor for Bev and also a good representation of our health department.”
Commissioners voted unanimously to congratulate Frizell on her new role. Winkelman also presented Frizell with a certificate of appreciation.
