United Way of Central Kansas is hosting their annual Community Tailgate in Ellinwood this year on Sept. 2. They will be serving hamburgers from Ellinwood Packing Plant along with chips and a water for a free will donation. You can grab your dinner at the Ellinwood High Football field before the Eagles first home game, with food being served from 6:30-7:30.
Proceeds raised at this event will support Community Impact Programs in Ellinwood, including Reality U, Box of Love, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Funds also support UWCK Community Partners who support the Ellinwood area.
New this year, UWCK will have a raffle to win a one-of-a-kind Ellinwood Eagles t-shirt quilt. Tickets can be purchased at the Tailgate for $1.00. The quilt will be making the rounds in town at participating businesses where tickets can be purchased leading up to the drawing which will take place prior to the Homecoming game on September 9th.
