Masaki Tsuji of the 8th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team has been named the Week Seven KJCCC Division I Offensive Player of the Week.
Tsuji once again proved pivotal in Barton's pair of victories, contributing three goals and one assist over the two-match span. The freshman midfielder opened his week by factoring into both first-half scores in a 4–0 road win at Western Nebraska, netting one goal and assisting another. He carried that momentum into Sunday's conference matchup, recording his first collegiate multi-goal outing with a pair of strikes in the Cougars' 4–1 victory over Seward County.
It marks the second time this season Tsuji has earned both conference and national honors, having previously shared the spotlight with teammate Pedro Lisboa in Week Three when the duo swept the KJCCC and NJCAA Division I weekly awards — Tsuji for offense and Lisboa for goalkeeping. The Cougars have now collected four different conference honors this season, joining Gabriel Bergamin (Week 4, Defensive) and Angel Sainz (Week 5, Offensive).
Following a week off from competition, Tsuji and the Cougars return to action Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Garden City Community College. Barton enters the contest at 3–2–1 in KJCCC play and 8–3–2 overall, while the Broncbusters sit just behind in the conference standings at 3–3–0 and 9–3–2 on the year.
