The former Masonic Lodge on Lakin Avenue in Great Bend is up for sale. The building houses Great Bend Coffee and Yours Truly storefronts on the ground level, with unused upper floors.
The building was purchased in 2014 with its current owners intending to turn the upper floors into an events center that could accommodate up to 300 patrons for weddings, corporate events and other gatherings. In a social media post, the owners said after more than a decade of “exploring, planning and investing in its future” they made the decision to list the property for sale.
In 2021, renovations began on the outside, thanks in part to the Barton County Façade Improvement program. In 2023, the owners won the $50,000 grand prize in Great Bend Economic Development’s Ignite Rural Business Competition. The owners stated grant funds have been fully repaid and they plan to include the architectural plans for the renovations with the sale of the property.
The facility, built in 1928, is listed at $275,000.
