Happening once every three years, the Great Bend Airfest is expected to be another huge event this weekend at the Great Bend Municipal Airport. Warbirds, static displays, tours, rides, history and of course airshows will entertain patrons Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Great Bend Community Coordinator Christina Hayes is anticipating more than 10,000 people to attend Saturday’s entertainment with three separate airshows.

"Yes, you can come in the gates and pay, get a band and come back in," said Hayes. "You can reenter with a band. You cannot transfer tickets. You can't bring in one family members and exchange that for another family member. You have to pay for the second family member to come in."

Gates open at 9 a.m. on Friday, with the airshow beginning at 11:30 a.m. Gates open at 10 a.m. on Saturday with three separate airshows. Gates will again open at 10 a.m. on Sunday with the final airshow starting at 12:30 p.m.

"I would say it's easier to buy online with a credit card than it will be at the front gate," said Hayes. "But if you want to pay cash or check at the front gate that is an option as well."

The 2021 Airfest had just over 9,000 spectators attend throughout the three-day event.
