Steven R. Turley Sr., 65, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born January 28, 1955 in Great Bend Kansas the son of Bruce and Hazel (Ward) Turley. Steve married Sandra McPhail on June 22, 1991 at the First Assembly of God in Great Bend.
Steve was a lifelong Barton County resident. He served with the US Marines during the Viet Nam conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 3111. He was passionate at bbq’ing and loved to play with his sons and dogs.
Survivors include his wife Sandra of the home; two sons Steve Jr. and Shawn Turley both of Hoisington; two brothers Darrell (Mary) Turley and Tom Turley all of Great Bend; two sisters Phyllis (Greg) Minet of Ocala, FL and Saundra Turley of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 9:00 pm Thursday May 21, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home. Private services will be 2:00 pm Friday May 22, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home with Dick Ogle presiding and a public livestream will be available at www.bryantfh.net under Steve’s obituary.
