Allison Mazzei will lead the Kansas Association of Broadcasters as its new President and Executive Director. Mazzei is a communications and fundraising strategist who has worked with dozens of organizations during her career to connect and cultivate their constituent bases. After spending 12 years with Pennington & Company, most recently as Senior Vice President, Allison knows the importance of next-level service and the tenacity needed to achieve ambitious goals.

“Allison comes from a family of broadcasters and is excited to champion this essential industry,” KAB Chair Brad Moses said. “Allison is a proven leader with a forward-looking vision that will enhance the Kansas Association of Broadcasters’ legislative agenda.”

Allison will start on June 1, 2020 and the KAB board expects a very smooth transition as Kent Cornish has agreed to delay his retirement somewhat and stay on as a part-time consultant throughout the remainder of this year.

“Allison is an energetic and team-oriented leader with a history of quantifiable success,” current KAB President and Executive Director Kent Cornish said. “I’m looking forward to working with Allison to build upon the strong relationships we have at the Kansas State House and help her get up to speed with KAB members and the board’s strategic agenda.”

Allison shares Kent’s enthusiasm. “I’m excited to meet broadcasters across the state and continue to offer KAB’s valuable resources.”

While at Pennington & Company, Allison was recognized for outstanding customer service and for achieving fundraising milestones for multimillion-dollar campaigns. She also led company-wide initiatives aimed at employee engagement and was responsible for recruiting and hiring for one of the company’s largest departments.

Allison holds a BS in journalism from the University of Kansas and resides in Lawrence, Kansas, with her family. She enjoys spending her time with her husband and two young daughters. Her volunteer duties include serving on the house corporation board for Sigma Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta, as well as acting as alumnae relations adviser; volunteering for the local Meals on Wheels; and is a patron of several non-profit organizations.
