Great Bend Police Arrest Bicyclist for Meth Possession Following Traffic Stop

On 06/11/2025 at 6:14 P.M. an Officer with the Great Bend Police Department contacted a bicyclist following a traffic infraction at 9th and Heizer. During the stop the Officer asked for and received consent to search the subject's backpack. During the search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located. SHON ROME W/M/49 YOA was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and No Drug Tax Stamp. ROME was transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
