Kansas Man's Death in Oklahoma Ruled Homicide; Investigation Continues

The death of a Kansas man found unresponsive near a golf course in Medford, Oklahoma, earlier this month has been ruled a homicide.

According to multiple media outlets the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled, 28-year-old Troy Devine of St. John died from blunt head and neck trauma. The manner of death was ruled a homicide on June 18.

Medford Police, Fire and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious man with shallow breathing at approximately 12:54 a.m. on June 5 near 525 Golf Course Road. Devine was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital in Enid, where he later died.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said Devine had been involved in an altercation at a residence prior to being found unresponsive. Investigators reported that all individuals involved are from Kansas.

The OSBI is leading the investigation. No arrests or charges have been announced, and the case will be forwarded to the Grant County District Attorney's Office for review once the investigation is complete.
