No Limits Kennels is a full-time, full-service and licensed boarding and basic training kennel in Heizer that has turned into a thriving business. Owner Jeffrey Bosch was approved Monday for a conditional use permit by Barton County Commissioners to build an additional dog kennel on his property in Heizer.
Environmental Manager Judy Goreham says that since Heizer in zoned an unincorporated community district, the kennel is allowed under conditional use in this zoning district.
"He built his first kennel in January 2016 and it was a very small kennel housing five to six dogs. Business was so good that he ended up quitting his full time job as a linesman and went full time raising and training hunting dogs. Five years later, he is proposing a second conditional use permit to build a second kennel that can house up to 15 dogs."
Goreham, who also oversees the Barton County Planning Commission, says Bosch has been very easy to work with throughout the permitting process and says she is impressed by what No Limits Kennels has been able to accomplish in such a short period of time.
"These kennels are unique and basically are like a Ritz Carlton for dogs" Gorham said. He (Bosch) has done nothing but improve everything he has touched in Heizer and has purchased several lots in the city and cleaned every one of them up."
Goreham also says it is amazing to see a business like this thrive in a small community.
"It gives you pride to know there are some very well known people who are entrusting their animals to get them ready so that when they come to Kansas to hunt they are ready to go."
No Limits Kennels provides dog boarding, basic training, advanced training, and rehabilitation. The training process includes basic obedience, gun and bird introductions all the way through steadiness, casting, and the trained retrieve.
No Limits Kennels also offers quality wing-shooting opportunities on 100% private ground and offers a variety of upland and waterfowl hunts that are professionally guided. Lodging is also provided for out-of-town hunters.
