The Parker Brothers version of the Monopoly board game was first sold in 1935, and there are now close to 40 different languages it is printed in. Fast forward to 2020, and anyone can purchase the classic game that is customized for the City of Great Bend.

Great Bend Community Coordinator Christina Hayes says Great Bendopoly is for sale at Walmart.

"At June Jaunt, I have created the Monopoly game where all the stores can ask local community chest questions with fun facts about Great Bend," said Hayes. "I was looking to Monopoly to make our own board where stores could purchase a spot."

Hayes says many cities that have a Super Walmart were provided the customized games. The board game sells for approximately $20.

"Somebody got really smart and utilized Google and then mass-produced all these games," said Hayes.

Hayes also noted that nobody sold advertisements on the local version, but there are area businesses included on the game based on Google searches. She emphasized the importance of getting your business on Google.
