Concepcion Martinez, 90, passed away Saturday January 4, 2020, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. She was born August 26, 1929, in Durango, Mexico the daughter of Gregorio and Juana (Ravelo) Martinez. She was united in marriage to Candelario Gonzalez on February 14, 1947 in Durango, Mexico.
Concepcion has been a resident of Great Bend since 1992, coming from Durango, Mexico. She was a member of the St Rose Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and loved her flowers and plants, but most of her time was spend with her family.
Survivors include four sons, Isaias, Elias, Miguel, and Francisco Gonzalez; four daughters, Hermelinda Gonzalez, Carmen Molina, Olga Hernandez, and Gloria Mata; five brothers Eduardo, Ricardo, Gregorio, Salvador, and Matias Martinez; three sisters, Marcelina, Agustina, and Maria del Refugio; twenty eight grandchildren, fifty two great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Candelario.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday January 7, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian of Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Burial will follow at Golden Belt Cemetery.
