GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO - Jane L. Thomas, 86, of Grand Junction, CO, formerly of Great Bend, KS, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Mantey Heights Rehabilitation & Care Center. She was born on June 9, 1933, in Newtown, CT, to Lewis Richard & Sarah Jane (Read) Slocum. She married Dorwin Thomas in 1959 at Randolph Air Force Base. He died in 1979.
Survivors include, her son, Dorwin Thomas, Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX; her daughter, Yvonne Cabral of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Melissa Fultz, Josh Walters, Christie Stephens, and Lance Rippel all of Grand Junction, CO, Tiffany Wilkie of Port Angeles, WA and Crystal Bortz, April Thomas and Steven Thomas, Jr. all of Great Bend, KS; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Fernandes of Newtown CT and Marion Weber of Hebron, NH. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dorwin Thomas; son, Steven Thomas; daughter, Patricia Walters; and brothers, William Slocum and Richard Slocum.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to service time at 10 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, KS, with Pastor Adam Wutka presiding. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with Military Rites conducted by McConnel Air Force Base.
