GREAT BEND - Mona Gayle Stos, 61, passed away December 20, 2019, at her home in Great Bend. She was born on April 20, 1958, at Larned, to Charles Lee & Jaunis Rogene (Bose) Tammen. She married Steve Stos on September 16, 1978, at Peace Lutheran Church of Albert. He survives.
Coming from Otis, Mona was a Great Bend resident. She graduated from Otis-Bison High School with the Class of 1976. She was an administrative assistant at McPherson and McVey Law Offices for 31 years. Mona loved NASCAR and was a pet lover but she especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include, her husband Steve of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Hemphill and husband Justin of Hays; one son, Mark Stos and fiancé Andrea Holman of Otis; one brother, David L. Tammen and wife Lynn of Albert; and three grandchildren, Alexis Hemphill, Hunter Hemphill, and Jennalee Stos. Also surviving is Jade Holman and Jack Holman, her grandchildren in heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Darren D. Tammen.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday December 23, 2019, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Ewy presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
