Cornerstone Automotive announced a change in ownership as Shop Manager Darin Hertel officially steps into the role of owner. Hertel has been with the company for nearly three and a half years serving as Shop Manager. He succeeds the previous out-of-state owner and investor, bringing new leadership while retaining the existing team and day-to-day operations.
This transition marks a return to local ownership and reinforces the business’s longstanding commitment to providing reliable, high-quality automotive care to the Great Bend community.
“I’m proud to carry Cornerstone forward while keeping it rooted in the community,” said Hertel. “We’ve always had incredible support here, and I’m excited to keep building on that foundation.”
Under Hertel’s leadership, the business now operates under the updated name Cornerstone Automotive & Tire, LLC, alongside a new logo that reflects the shop’s growing focus on tire services and expanded capabilities.
In addition to the branding updates, Hertel plans to expand convenience-focused services, including drive-up oil changes, faster and more comprehensive tire services, and an online scheduling system for routine maintenance.
