Changes are in the works for the upcoming SRCA schedule in Great Bend. On Thursday, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) West Central Division 5 announced the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event scheduled at the SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend has been postponed.

“It was a very tough decision, but we feel it is the right one for the racers,” SRCA spokesman Hank Denning said in the release. “We very much look forward to having the NHRA return to Great Bend in 2024 with the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.”

The NHRA has moved the divisional race to June 15-17 in Denver. The event will start with a track-operated test day on June 14, with qualifying and time trials following on June 15. The Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car portions of the SRCA event have been canceled for 2023, but those two classes will still compete as part of the original schedule at Denver's Bandimere Speedway.
