The Barton Community College women's golf squad completed its second tournament of the season Tuesday, competing in the two-day 12th Annual Central Kansas Classic held at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.
Sophomore Panalee Prachavittayagon again led Barton's three-player contingent, capturing the second collegiate title of her career. Battling Monday's 25-mph winds, Prachavittayagon opened with a 6-over 78 before closing with a 77 Tuesday for a winning 11-over 155 total.
Eight strokes back in the runner-up position, Alexandria Hunt recorded the highest finish of her two-year career. Hunt also displayed consistency throughout the two rounds, opening with an 82 before shaving a stroke Tuesday with an 81 for a 19-over 163 total.
Zarmina Khan flirted with a top-five finish in just her second collegiate tournament, opening with an 86 before slipping three spots following an 89 Tuesday to finish eighth at 31-over 175.
The Cougars have nearly two weeks before returning to the links, traveling to Hesston Municipal Golf Course on Sept. 28 for the two-day Bethel Fall Invitational.
