Clifford 'Cliff' Bieberle, age 87

Clifford “Cliff” C. Bieberle, 87, passed away Sept. 26, 2023, at Riverbend Assisted Living of Great Bend. He was born April 16, 1936, at Bushton to Tony and Mary (Hammeke) Bieberle. He married Janet R. Polzin Oct. 19, 1957, at Dubuque. She died July 19, 2000. He then married Geraldine “Gerry” (Depiesse) Steinert on Sept. 23, 2009. She survives.

A longtime Great Bend resident, Cliff owned Cliff’s Trash Service for 43 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #862. He enjoyed playing pitch, hunting, fishing, socializing with friends, and was known to be quick with a story.

Survivors include, his wife, Gerry Bieberle of the home; two sons, Jim Bieberle (Crystal) of Great Bend and Danny Bieberle (Tammy Becker) of Medicine Lodge; three daughters, Linda Francis (Todd), Vicki Woodral (Bill) and Donna Eshleman (Matt) all of Great Bend; a sister, Elvera Ewald (Jerry) of Wichita; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Laramore (Mark), Trista Fritz (Charlie), Chase Bieberle (Jes), Samanatha Elsen (Alex), Jeff Woodral (Krystal), Stephanie Richter (Jesse), Justin Bieberle (Crystal) and Jennelle Ochoa (Tim); 22 great-grandchildren; three step-children, Jay Steinert (Cheryl) of Hoisington, Marty Steinert of Hoisington and Terry Steinert (Stacey) of Kansas City, Mo.; and six step-grandchildren, Shane Andereck, Cole Steinert, Chase Steinert, Mindy Steinert, Taylor Meitner and Tanner Cassity. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet Bieberle; a brother, Father Victor Bieberle; two sisters, Evelyn Klepper and LeaNell Moos; and a grandson, Brayden Eshleman.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Vigil service with Knights of Columbus Rosary held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon., Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Aneesh Parappanattu and Father Adam Greglinger concelebrating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House or Gentiva Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
