From the City of Great Bend...
We are actively working to meet state requirements following the loss of water pressure experienced last night. As mandated by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), we are collecting water samples to test for potential bacteriological concerns. These tests take a minimum of 24 hours from the time the samples are received by the lab, and once results are available, the KDHE will determine when the boil advisory can be lifted.
Since the incident, we have been closely monitoring disinfectant levels in the system. Current readings show consistent and adequate disinfectant levels, both during and after the outage.
Until the advisory is officially rescinded, we urge residents to continue following KDHE’s recommendations regarding water use.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our community’s water supply.
