From the Great Bend Rec

A properly installed car seat may just save a child’s life. To help ensure your little ones are riding safely, the Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a Car Seat Check event on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the GBRC Activity Center, 2715 18th Street.

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are encouraged to stop by and have their car seats inspected by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPS Technicians). These trained professionals will check for proper installation, share important safety tips, and answer any questions you may have about car seats, booster seats, and vehicle safety.

After your car seat check, head inside the Activity Center where your children can enjoy a fun time playing with the Imagination Playground. This large-scale, interactive play set encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

This free community event is made possible through a partnership between The University of Kansas Health System – Great Bend Campus Emergency Department, the Great Bend EMS/Fire Department, and the Great Bend Recreation Commission.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make sure your family is safe on the road—and to let your kids’ imaginations run wild!
