Robert Jay Michael “Robbie” Corcoran, 73, died March 21, 2024 at his home in Great Bend, Kansas. The son of Robert and Betty (Detter) Corcoran was born June 12, 1950, in Hoisington, Kansas. He attended schools in Hoisington, Kansas. Robert married Janet Cotten and to that union were born two sons, Patrick, and Aaron. They later divorced. He then married Connie Judd Michaelis Corcoran on August 26, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; his sons, Aaron Corcoran of Great Bend, and Patrick (Trish) Corcoran of Valley Center; bonus-daughter, Kimberly Specht of Salina; bonus-son, Kevin Michaelis of Russell; sister, Cathy (Jim) Morris of Hoisington. He leaves grandchildren, Tyler (Christine) Corcoran of Tempe, Arizona, Abby and Dylan Corcoran of Valley Center, Patrick Gillen of Wichita, Remy Corcoran of Great Bend, Austin (Victoria) Michaelis, Madison (Hunter) Dean and Brooklyn Michaelis all of Topeka, Tyler Specht of Overland Park, Jacob Specht of Hays; and a great grandson, Waylen Dean of Topeka; He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald “Randy” Corcoran.
Robbie worked in the oil fields as a young adult and later for Boger Brothers Oil, Inc., in sales. He was co-owner of Oz Creations, Inc. After closing Oz Creations, he went to work for the Lyon County Department of Aging and AR Transportation, retiring in 2015. After retiring, Robbie enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, and boating with his family.
Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Chaplain Jeff Johnson presiding.
