The Great Bend Police Department would like to inform the public that there is an increased police presence at Great Bend Middle School today. This measure is being taken as part of our commitment to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the community.
We are actively investigating a potential threat involving three students, which was discovered last night. At this time, our investigation has revealed that the threat was made out of malicious intent to disrupt the school day and avoid attending classes. After a thorough review, we have determined that the threat is not credible.
The students involved will be taken into custody, and appropriate actions will be taken. The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our highest priority, and we will continue to take all necessary measures to maintain a safe environment.
