Resurfacing work is scheduled to begin on U.S. 183 around March 24 in Pawnee County, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The project extends from the U.S. 183/K-56 junction north 12.3 miles to the U.S. 183/K-156 junction. Work is expected to be completed by the end of May, weather permitting.
During the resurfacing work, traffic will be restricted to one lane and routed through the work zone by following a pilot car. Motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the primary contractor on the $2.2 million project.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit www.kandrive.gov or call 5-1-1. For updates on construction projects in South Central Kansas, visit https://www.ksdot.gov/projects/south-central-kansas-projects.
