Regina Donanu and Mary Akinde of the Barton Community College women's basketball team have been selected to the 2026 Division I All-KJCCC/Region 6 team.

The pair helped guide Barton to a 12-12 conference mark, winning its post-season opener leading to its ninth straight quarterfinal appearance, closing the season at 15-17 overall following a nine-point setback at No. 9 ranked Dodge City Community College.

Regina Donanu â€“ 1st Team
Donanu opened conference play in dominant fashion, pouring in 74 points across the first three outings and finishing the league slate averaging a second-best 16.8 points per game.

The 5'4" sophomore guard from Bayelsa, Nigeria, earned KJCCC Player of the Week honors in week four after averaging 30.0 points on 50 percent shooting, highlighted by breaking Barton's 25-year-old single-game scoring record. After scoring 17 points with six rebounds and three assists against top-ranked Dodge City, Donanu erupted for a program-record 43 points against Cloud County, surpassing Wendy Okeson's 42-point mark set on February 26, 2000—also against Cloud County.

In the record-setting performance, Donanu shot 13-of-21 from the field, a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range, and 14-of-16 at the free throw line, tying for the fourth-most free throws made in a game in program history.

Continuing to refine her game throughout the season, Donanu reached double figures in all 24 conference games, developing one of the league's most reliable mid-range games while ranking third in free throw percentage at 84.6%.

For the season, Donanu averaged 17.1 points on 41 percent shooting while converting 83 percent (115-of-138) from the free throw line, tying Quezia Bertoni's 2023-24 mark for the program's single-season record. She also ranks fourth in career free throw percentage at 79.4 percent (173-of-218).

Mary Akinde â€“ 2nd Team
While Donanu commanded attention on the perimeter, Akinde anchored the Cougars in the paint, consistently drawing multiple defenders and controlling the glass.

Averaging 11.8 points per game—ranking among the league's top 20—Akinde was the only player in the conference to average a double-double, pulling down 10.8 rebounds per contest across the 24-game league schedule. She recorded double-digit rebounds in 15 games and finished with 13 double-doubles on the season.

The 6'5" freshman from Lagos, Nigeria, averaged 10.8 points on 43.1 percent shooting while adding 10.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game overall. Her season was highlighted by a 26-point performance against Fort Hays Tech Northwest and a 21-rebound effort versus Cowley College, tying for the 11th-most rebounds in a single game in program history.

Akinde finished the season with 337 total rebounds, ranking seventh on Barton's single-season list.
